Mossvale Lock House

photo of a painting of a 2 storey whitewashed house hiding behind 2 large mushroom shaped trees. To the left of the picture is a hump back bridge with a rough stone edging.

John Todd supplied this photo of a painting by Barney of the house where his father used to live. His father still has the painting.

Mossvale Lock was about 200 yards on the Drumbeg side of the M1. The Irish Yew tree shown at the end of the house in the painting is still there but the 2 big trees in the foreground seem to have disappeared.

Remains of the internal wall showing
where the floor joists were inserted.

Photos taken 13 August 2006
Better photos will be taken of the house and bridge when the leaves are off the trees.
